Weblog entry dated May 24th, 2007
Well, could be 2006, I don't notice any more.
Hey y'all, don't know if anyone's still reading this but Hi! if you are.
Eight weeks now since It happened and even though I try to stay positive, It is still the Dark Planet around which my Satellite of Hate orbits.
"It", for those of you who haven't been following my crusade, is an incident where the full force of a faceless corporation was brought to bear on my humble shoulders.
I refer of course to the clinical excision - by website www.gamespot.com - of my comment from the review of "ProStroke Golf - World Tour 2007" by Aaron Thomas. Huh, clearly Mr Thomas' ego is fragile to such an extent that he feels the need to ruthlessly suppress any kind of dissent in his comments section.
As I recall, my comment was "Dude, your reviews normally give me wood but that gave me a 3 iron !!!".
It lived for sixteen beautiful minutes before being deleted.
What, Aaron, did it take you that long to decide my fate?
Did you play it over in your mind before hitting the delete key and vanquishing my contribution forever?
May I take this opportunity to ask once again:
Who do you think you are that gives you the right to do this? It wasn't just a comment! It wasn't some throwaway quip for you to discard like an old mascara brush! It was a piece of me! A piece of who I was then! You had no right to delete it! None!
People tell me to get some perspective on it, but if they are allowed to silence one voice then they won't stop until they've silenced all our voices. Where will we be then?
Fucked, that's where.
