Cone-headed God-bothering loon Sinead O'Connor looks certain to court controversy with her new album "The Bearded Clam".
Described by O'Connor as "a deeply personal tribute to that most enduring of feminine symbols", the album includes guest appearances by Liam O'Maonlaí and Damien Dempsey.
A likely contender for first single is "An fear beag sa bháidín" which beautifully marries O'Connor's plaintive ululations with O'Maonlai's frustrated mumblings.
O'Connor: "Faoin blaincéad is ea Páidín..."
O'Maonlaí: "Mé ag lorg fear beag sa bháidín."
O'Connor: "Níl an t-ádh leis sa mhaidin..."
O'Maonlaí: "Mé ag lorg fear beag sa bháidín."
[accordion solo interspersed with "An é sin é?" and "Níl!"]
O'Connor: "Oh déan dearmad! Chuir ort do 'láimhín'..."
O'Maonlaí: "Ochón, cá bhfuil fear beag sa bháidín!"
Dempsey contributes his unique vocal stylings to "Timmy comes to Tuna Town"; a track which beautifully celebrates the coming-of-age of a moustachied inner city lad.

Another one that's likely to offend (but for different reasons) is the new release from Dundalk deathgrind shock-rocker Andrea Corr. "Ingrown toenail" is another blood-soaked violence-addled affair which is definitely not for the squeamish.
On tracks such as "Pitchfork-impaled vealcalf" and "Drinker of slurry", Andrea growls and grunts her way through an uncompromising blend of death metal and grindcore which is sure to keep her fans happy.
Both releases are in all good record stores now - what better reason to buy Irish.
